Getting There
The best airports for flying into Big Sky are:
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) – Located about an hour’s drive from Big Sky, this is the most convenient airport with frequent flights from major U.S. cities.
Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) – A great option if you plan to explore Grand Teton National Park before heading to Big Sky, though it’s about a four-hour drive.
For the best experience, I recommend renting a car at the airport so you can fully explore the region at your own pace.

Summer is an ideal time to visit Big Sky because of the pleasant weather, long daylight hours, and access to a wide range of activities. With temperatures averaging in the 70s°F (20s°C), you can enjoy hiking, wildlife spotting, whitewater rafting, and more. Six-Day Big Sky & Yellowstone Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Big Sky
Arrive at your accommodations and settle in.
Stroll through Big Sky Town Center, check out local shops, and enjoy dinner at Horn & Cantle for delicious Montana-inspired cuisine.
Relax and soak in the mountain views at your resort.
Day 2: Yellowstone National Park (Lower Loop)
Depart early for Yellowstone National Park (about an hour’s drive to the West Entrance).
Visit iconic spots such as Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, and the Fountain Paint Pots.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
Stop at Yellowstone Lake and the Hayden Valley for wildlife viewing.
Return to Big Sky for a relaxing evening.
Day 3: Outdoor Adventures in Big Sky
Take a guided whitewater rafting trip on the Gallatin River.
Have lunch at Blue Moon Bakery for a casual, delicious meal.

Day 6: Relax & Depart
