A Secret Speakeasy Experience You Didn’t Know Exists on the MSC World America Cruise

Shhh… I probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but the secret is already circulating, so there’s no harm in letting you in too. During our MSC World America cruise, we discovered a hidden speakeasy experience onboard and it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable nights of the entire voyage!


This isn’t listed in the daily planner. It’s not something you can book like a normal activity. You can only go if you’re invited.


The Hidden Entrance You Probably Walked Right Past

While exploring MSC World America, look for a bright red London-style phone booth. Most people assume it’s just themed décor, but that phone booth is actually the secret entrance to an exclusive speakeasy bar onboard.

How to Get Into the MSC World America Secret Speakeasy

You’ll know you’ve been selected when you receive a large invitation coin. One side shows a picture of the phone booth with the MSC logo, and the other side has a QR code. Guests who receive a coin scan the QR code to secure their reservation for the speakeasy evening.

No, I can’t get you a coin (I wish I could!). But I can give you some tips below.


What Happens Inside the Secret Speakeasy

We arrived about 10–15 minutes before our reservation time and followed the instructions: pick up the phone, dial the secret number… and then the phone booth opened like a movie scene. A staff member quietly ushered us in and reminded us to “Keep Quiet!”.


From there we were led down an industrial staircase and through another hidden doorway into a fully themed 1920's speakeasy bar with dim lighting, authentic décor, full bar, tables, and a small stage.


We ordered from the specialty cocktail menu (note: standard drink packages don’t apply). I won’t spoil all the surprises, but think:

  • Live jazz and swing music

  • Theatrical vocal performances

  • Interactive entertainment

  • Everyone dancing by the finale!


It felt immersive, unique, and far beyond the typical cruise lounge vibes. Truly a highlight of our 7-night sailing.



Tips to Increase Your Chances of Being Invited

While there are no guarantees, here are ways people most often get spotted for a coin:

  1. Be seen at evening parties having a good time — visible, social, engaging guests seem to get chosen.

  2. Stay out later at night — invitations often appear in later hours.

  3. Book the MSC Yacht Club — and politely ask your butler if they have any “hints.”
